Just a little haul!!

And when I say little, I mean pretty huge for me! I grabbed a whole bunch of stuff from Scrapbook.com and I'm sharing what I got today!

Traveler's Notebook Layout :: Self Care Postcard

It isn't very often you'll see me add more than one photo to a page, let alone five! But I really like this approach for documenting photos that maybe aren't special enough for a page of their own.

I put together a few photos representing some of my self care rituals, photos that I probably wouldn't have documented otherwise. This month's Traveler's Notebook stamp and embellishment kit from Citrus Twist, helped me turn the page into a postcard to myself! Those rose-gold stamp stickers were the jumping off point for this page, I knew as soon as I pulled them out of the box that I wanted to do something like this!

Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge :: February

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? This mood board was a little bit challenging to me, with all that black and green and orange!

I loved the graphic text piece in the moodboard so I decided to replicate that using some older metal alpha dies and some watercolour paper (which gives the letters a lovely texture!). Funnily enough, I had taken a photo that morning which perfectly suited the mood board colours and then all I needed to add was some hidden journalling and a couple of bits from an old Citrus Twist kit (which I vaguely remembered having some orange paper in it and I can't believe I managed to find the right one!).

Project Life :: Week 4

What do you do when you photos for the week are just a little bit, blah? That was the situation I found myself in this week.

The one card I really did want to use, just didn't work with my photos and I really had no other ideas what to do. The floral papers in the February Pocket Life kit are LOVELY, but not really my style when it comes to PL layouts. So I tried something a little different. I found a larger floral pattern and fussy cut out a few of the flowers. I am NOT a great fussy-cutter (give me a Silhouette any day) but I really like the end result. Those three florals pull the whole page together!

Here is my process for this week's layout...

OLW :: February

Have you ever tried creating a vision board? I'm a big fan, so this month's OLW prompt is one of my favourites.

I tried something a little different this year, and instead of creating one canvas, I created five mini vision "boards" in my Pocket Page Notebook. I REALLY enjoyed this process and I love the scale of these little boards.

I'm not sure if they are going to be visible enough to be effective, but luckily, I had a tonne of clippings left over so if they aren't, I can just create a canvas for myself as well.

My favourite part about doing it in my Pocket Page Notebook, is that I could create a see-through element to my boards. There was this one quote, which I loved, but it never made it onto any of my pages. So I just stitched it onto my pocket and now it is included as well!

3-to-Inspire :: Pink Hair

I'm over on the Citrus Twist blog today sharing another 3-to-Inspire challenge. I do hope you'll head over and check it out!

Traveler's Notebook :: Fires and Flood

What do you do when you can't choose which alpha to use for your title? Use them all! Thats how I created the title for this page. I used all my favourite alpha stamps from Kellie Stamps, including a sneak peek at one coming later in the month!

But I wasn't really happy with the page. It sorted of bugged me for a few days until I went back and decided to try to improve it. I don't often do that, perfect isn't really my goal with these pages. But I figured if I was still thinking about it a few days later, then it probably deserved a little attention. So I repeated the same stamping I had done earlier and filled up all the dead space on the page and I'm MUCH happier with it. It still isn't perfect, but I'm much happier with it.

How to create a mini kit using digital printables :: Week 3 Project Life

I am a huge fan of digital printables, I love being able to get the latest kits – without paying usually double for shipping!

The printables I bought were:

Once I had my printables all printed out, I put together a little mini kit to work with to create this week's spread. I love mixing digital and real-life to create a hybrid approach.

Here is my process for putting together my little mini kit and how I used that kit to create this week's layout...

Maybe it's the abundance of sunshine around here, or maybe just the enthusiasm of a new year, but I have really been enjoying my crafty time lately. So I thought I'd show you a few of my favourite crafty things from January.

So here they are, in no particular order:

 Fabric TN covers from The Stamp Spot

Label 101 from Kellie Stamps

Pocket Page Notebook :: Sunshine with Kellie Stamps

I've been playing around with repeat stamping again (after a much too long break) and I've discovered a really cool way to create a multiple-stamp pattern. This makes repeat stamping a total breeze. Today, I've used the HOME GROWN set from Kellie Stamps to show you how!

I had some stamping to cover up on the left side, so I did my stamping on a separate piece of paper and then stuck it down before slipping my full page photo into the pocket on my Pocket Page Notebook! The 'e' on that alpha set still REALLY annoys me (I guess I can only blame my years of training in design! So picky now!)

Pocket Page Notebook Youtube Hop :: Spot

Essie and Caylee and myself are doing another Pocket Page Notebook Youtube hop today in honour of our beloved Pocket Page Notebooks!

This time, instead of a sketch, we used the word SPOT as a jumping off point and each interpreted it in our own ways.

Head on over to YouTube, check out Essie's and Caylee's take on the word "spot", AND find the most amazing discount code so you can get your own PPN!

Five Favourite Things :: Week 2 Project Life

This week, in addition to a normal Five Favourite Things challenge, I did something a little different! I've showed you my entire process, a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making a regular process video for you!

So if you'd like a little more information about how I choose and print photos, my filming set up and how I edit the videos for you, here is the behind-the scenes...

AND if you want to join me in this FFT challenge, then create a project using the following 5 things (and don't forget to show me what you create!):
  • paper scraps
  • mist
  • older stamp sets
  • wood veneer alphas (or alphas, or wood veneer!)
  • chipboard stickers!

Here is the regular creative process for this week's spread using my Five Favourite Things...

Another finished Traveler's Notebook walk-through

Another couple of inserts are done and dusted. So I've slipped them into their fabric TN cover from The Stamp Spot and they are heading for the shelf. But first, here's a look through them ...

Pocket Page Notebook :: Summer Time with Kellie Stamps

I'm continuing to be on a real summery kick lately so the new SUMMER FUN set from Kellie Stamps is still in high rotation around here.

I couldn't decide which colour went perfectly with my photo, so I used ALL of them instead! A super easy and effective look for my usual repeat stamping, which is made even easier when I use a Pocket Page Notebook and can simple slip my finished stamping piece in afterwards, thus avoiding the despair of a mega stuff up!

Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge :: January

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? The first mood board of the year is bright and fun and full of pink!

Unfortunately, I haven't been feeling quite as bright and fun as the mood board suggested, so although I used the colours of the mood board, my page is a little more subdued! I took inspiration from all the circles in the board and spent some time stitching and reflecting which ended up being very therapeutic! That older stamp from Kellie Stamps was absolutely perfect for this page too.

Project Life :: Week 1

Week one couldn't get more simple. All I used was a cheap 6x6 paper pad I picked up at my local stationary store recently (purely because it looked SO summery and I was desperate for a little bit of sunshine!), some washi tape and the awesome new SUMMER FUN stamp set from Kellie Stamps.

Another trick I've been using is to stamp a whole stack of little label stamps (from this set), in multiple colours, and trim them out so I have labels on hand any time I need them to cover up mistakes or using for my date stamp.

Here is how this week's spread came together...
