Traveler's Notebook :: Bug Splat

I love being able to use up as many of the bits and pieces from my kits as possible and this is a really good way to use all those 2x6 off cuts to create a stripy background for a page in my Traveler's Notebook.

Also love that I finally managed to get this funny and slightly gross story documented somewhere before I forget about it!

Traveler's Notebook Layout :: Brunch

This may well be the most simple Traveler's Notebook page I've ever done but as soon as I saw that BRUNCH stamp from the GOOD FOOD stamp set over at Kellie Stamps, I knew I had to use it for this photo. Because our favourite brunch spot is always the Farmers Market and our favourite food from the Farmers Market is always bacon, and bacon doesn't really need any fancy embellishments!

Project Life :: Week 12

This whole page is like my dream: blue, pink and teal! And after all the negativity of the last few weeks, I really enjoyed turning this page into one big, positive note-to-self!

I saved the left-over "week" from last week's cutfile so I could use it this week and I had to get a little creative when I ran out of e's, cutting the loops off a b resulted in a short little e but it is an e nonetheless.

And I used one of my filler cards from this video, all I had to do was add a little stamp, too easy.

Kellie Stamps :: 100 Day Project Tracker

Head on over to the Kellie Stamps shop today and check out all the new releases! I used the LIKE A GIRL stamp set to create a tracker for my 100 Day Project. Since it isn't really an instagrammable project, I needed something to keep me accountable and so far it is working great!

DIY Filler cards for Project Life

It's SO easy to make your own filler cards with whatever left-over papers and embellishments you have lying around! Here I used some papers and the embellishment pack from the April Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life kit to create some of my own...

Here's how I did it...

Kellie Stamps :: April sneaks

Not long now until the next Kellie Stamps release! And if you really don't want to miss out, head on over now and sign up for a stamp subscription!

Project Life :: Week 11

I knew I really wanted to tell a few more stories this week, and that those numbered journalling cards in the April Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life kit was going to be a great way to do it.

I had intentions that I would keep the rest of the page plain and neutral but my love and need for colour won out and I used the brightest papers from the kit to really bring the page alive.

It's quite unusual for me to have so much journalling but I must say, I love how the page turned out!

Traveler's Notebook :: Happy Mail

I was surprised and delighted when I got the mail last week, when I received the most gorgeous pocket letter from the lovely Essie Ruth.

For sure, I could have slipped her letter into my Project Life album but honestly, I really wanted to play with all the pretty embellishments and papers she sent me. So instead, I put together a page in my Pocket Page Notebook. Which is exactly what I did!

Kellie Stamps :: Chocolate

I never could resist a bit of chocolate, especially a Tim Tam or two with a coffee. A VERY simple page in my food-themed TN, mainly because I had this photo sitting spare from a project life spread and because, well, chocolate!

The brown ink stamped the 'chocolate' stamp from the NUTS ABOUT FOOD set from Kellie Stamps really splotchy and at first I was a bit disappointed but then I realised it made it look a bit like it was stamped in chocolate, so WIN!

Project Life :: Week 10

And I'm back! Managed to clear enough room on my desk to finally sit down and crack into the April Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life kit. And it was well worth the wait.

But man, after a three-week hiatus from any sort of crafting at all, I am so rusty. Nothing felt natural and I sure wasn't feeling creative. But if I've got one tip for staying up-to-date with Project Life, it is this. Just keep going. Just do it, to use Nike's motto. Even if it isn't your favourite, even if you don't love it. Put it in the album and move on. You'll blow so much time trying to get it perfect. Better just to get it documented and in an album.

So that's what I'm doing. Calling this one done and moving on to next week. I've got five weeks to catch-up on so I have not time for perfect. Just progress.

Traveler's Notebook :: Noodles

Once again I'm using the NUTS ABOUT FOOD stamp set from Kellie Stamps for another page in my food-themed TN. I created a stamped background in pink, not the shade of pink I was hoping for but I think it worked out for the best in the end.

I versatile stamp like "life's sweet with a" is so handy because, lets face it, there are a lot of things that make life sweet. For Lily, that includes a big helping of noodles!

What? No project life?

A little life update: right now I am busy moving across the country and although I have scheduled a few videos while I'm out of action, there is no project life video today (sharp intake). Hopefully but the time this goes up I'll be almost set up and ready to start filming again so all going well, next week we should be back to normal!

Traveler's Notebook :: Sandwich Love

Lily loves sandwiches but my sister was definitely not as sucked in by that cute face as I usually am. And I found the perfect stamp for this photo in the NUTS ABOUT FOOD set from Kellie Stamps. So I had to add another page to my food-themed TN insert.

Super simple as always but my main take-away from this page: don't use your eyes to measure – get out the ruler!

Kellie Stamps :: 90

We were very lucky to be at my Nana's 90th birthday last month. Such a special day for our whole family, it definitely needed it's own page.

I used the TODAY WAS stamp set from Kellie Stamps to create some background patterns and some small embellishments. I also used a mix of handwriting and stamping for the journalling.

Project Life :: Week 9

This week was one of those crappy, roller-coaster weeks so I ended up with hardly any photos at all. I grabbed the few I did take, blew one up to 6x8 and got working.

I used the TODAY WAS and NUTS ABOUT FOOD sets from Kellie Stamps, even though there are no food photos. I think if you look hard enough, there are always stamps from themed sets you can apply to non-themed photos.

I also grabbed a freebie card from Kellie's blog that perfectly summed up the week.

Pancakes

One of the things I love about digital stamps is how versatile they are. I grabbed one of the digital stamps from the NUTS ABOUT FOOD set from Kellie Stamps and created a stitching pattern on my photo.

I'm not gonna lie, this stitching took a while and I don't know why I keep insisting on using the most annoying thread in the world to stitch with. Ok, I do. Because it's all gold and pretty. But still super hard to work with.

I also created a little hidden pocket to put my journalling on a tag, love that little detail. I matted the whole thing on a piece of vellum (super hard to see in photos) because I ended up getting my measurements wrong and only printed and 11 inch tall photo. Whoops. I thought about just making the layout 11x11 but then decided to just throw the whole thing on a background and I loved the look of vellum! Problem solved.

Traveler's Notebook :: Celebrate

The Pinkfresh diecut pieces in the March Pocket Life kit from Citrus Twist kits are so cute! I had to use up the few I had left so I scribbled a circle in my TN, added a photo and then glued down as many as I could! A few puffy stickers and some journalling and I had a pretty page all done!

Traveler's Notebook Process :: Popcorn

It's release day over at Kellie Stamps and I'm super excited to have collaborated with Kellie again on this set, NUTS ABOUT FOOD. Because, we certainly are around here! In fact, you'll see over the coming weeks that we're so nuts about food, I've started a whole new insert just for food related pages!

One of the things we ALL love is popcorn. Lily especially. So I made this really simple page in my TN about it using one of my brush script stamps.
